HOCKEY: Midlothian pupils in action

NEWBATTLE High School hosted the first S1-3 HS hockey festival of the season last month.
Unfortunately, Lasswade HS and Dalkeith/St Davids HS were unable to attend, but some of the Penicuik and Newbattle players combined to create an 'all-star' team, so there was still plenty of hockey to enjoy.
The results were as follows: Penicuik 3, Newbattle 0; Penicuik 6, Newbattle/ Penicuik 0; Penicuik 3, Beeslack 1; Newbattle 1, Beeslack 2; Newbattle/ Penicuik 3, Beeslack 2; Newbattle/Penicuik 3, Newbattle 0.
There was a Midlothian selector present at the event, as there will be at all the S1-3 festivals, in order to identify potential players for this season's U-14/U-15 Midlothian squad.
The next festival will take place at Penicuik astro on Wednesday November 12.
