"Attendances throughout the season were excellent and all competitions provided exciting matches in spite of the weather," he said.
"Membership remains healthy and enthusiasm for the game is high among young and old alike."
He thanked committe
e members for their hard work during the year. "You helped make this season yet another smash hit!" he told them.
Former club champion Bill Fearnley, who has been a guiding light in the club for decades, was elected honorary president.
Frank Nisbet and Karen Campbell have joined the committee, replacing Marie Briggs and Maurice Jackson.
Office bearers for 2008-9: president, George Archibald; secretary, Quintin Young; treasurer, Nigel Gray; membership secretary, Meg McDermott; groundsman, John Duncan. Other committee members: Richard Barron, John Slater.
Subscriptions for the 2009 season: adult £60, intermediate £30, junior £25, family £125. Visitor fees will be unchanged at £5 (adults) and £2 (children).
